We invite financial institutions and technology companies to submit entries for the Excellence in Retail Finance and Technology Innovation Hong Kong Awards. The Asian Banker Excellence Awards are among the most rigorous, prestigious, and transparent country-level award programs for retail banking and technology in Hong Kong. They recognise financial institutions for their vision, execution, market-leading financial service propositions, outstanding achievements, and best practices.

The awards recognise achievements in retail finance and technology innovation, specific to financial institutions, banks, and non-banks, in Hong Kong. Although we often receive numerous submissions from various countries and regions competing for a single award category in the TAB Global Excellence Programme, the Hong Kong Excellence Awards are focused on efforts at the national level, which may be unique or specific to this country.

As the industry moves from a period of relative stability, with low interest rates and low inflation, into a future of heightened uncertainties, the post-pandemic recovery in retail financial services remains fragile. The industry is also entering a period of rising competition among platforms, digital-only banks, and incumbent commercial banks. To capture these trends, we have strengthened our program to highlight not only the ongoing acceleration in digital transformation but also the resilience that players are demonstrating in the current climate.

We employ an audit-based approach in the evaluation process, relying on our proprietary performance scorecards. We also consider consumer perception surveys such as BankQuality, which surveys customers about their experiences with retail finance service providers and incorporate customer-derived net promoter score-based ratings into the winner evaluation and selection process.
